Sports Mogul Inc. Announces Baseball Mogul to Be Released

MEDFORD, Mass., March 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Just in time for baseball season, Sports Mogul Inc. today announced the upcoming release of Baseball Mogul 2002, the latest edition of the award-winning General Manager sports simulation.

Baseball Mogul 2002 puts the user in charge of a professional baseball club, and challenges him to build a pennant-winning team. With full control over the team's roster and finances, the user must assemble the right players to win the championship, while managing the team's profit and loss. A player who manages his team well will earn higher profits and be able to attract better athletes, while a player who manages poorly will quickly find that his fans have deserted him and his franchise is on the brink of bankruptcy.

The game was created for any fan who has ever wondered ``what if'' their favorite team had signed the hot new rookie. With a realistic simulation engine backed by five years of development, Baseball Mogul allows fans to replay the season as often as they want, adjusting their team's rosters to build the best possible team, and finding out ``what might have been.''

Baseball Mogul 2002 includes a number of new features and improvements over earlier versions of the game, including:

-- New Managerial Strategies to control the game. Users can adjust 18 different management strategies from baserunning to bullpen usage, optimizing them to match the players on their team's roster.

-- New options for contract negotiations and extensions

-- Optional computer-suggested "hints" to help set lineups, pitching, and defense

-- New league management functions, making it easier for players to manage leagues with their friends
