EXPANSION DRAFT
The Sortable Stats Dialog is used to pick players during the Expansion Draft.
An Expansion Draft is conducted whenever the league expands, or whenever you choose to start a game by taking control of an expansion team before the expansion draft.
Expansion drafts in Baseball Mogul follow these rules:
1) Expansion teams may draft players from either league.
2) A player is ineligible for the expansion draft if he was selected in the amateur draft within the last three seasons.
3) Where amateur draft data is not available, a player is ineligible if he is under 23 years of age. (This setting can be changed in the League Editor).
4) At the start of the expansion draft, established teams are each allowed to protect 15 players (in addition to the players covered by rule #2 and rule #3). Teams are required to use one of these "protection" slots for any players with a no-trade clause.
5) No team may lose more than one player per round of the draft. For example, if there are 20 established teams, the first round will consist of 20 picks, each resulting in a different team losing a player.
Because of rule #5, the list of available players will change drastically during the draft. If you draft a player from St. Louis with the first pick, all St. Louis players will disappear from the list. By the end of the round, the list will only show players from one or two teams. When the next round begins, the list of available players will "refresh", and players from all teams will again be eligible for the draft.
