GAME RECAPS

If a particular game mentioned on the Headlines Page piques your curiosity, you can view the Box Score or Game Recap by clicking on the appropriate button.

You can also view a Box Score or Game Recap from the Calendar Screen. A normal left-click on any completed game brings up the Box Score for the game. A right-click displays the Game Recap. If clicking on a day doesn't display the box score, then you can change the settings for which games are saved using the Options Dialog.

READING THE GAME RECAP

The Game Recap, also known as the "Play-By-Play", details an entire baseball game in chronological order. Each line shows the result of one play.

The notation after each line shows the runners on base as a result of that play. A number indicates a runner, while a dash (-) shows an empty base.

For example, this line shows a batter getting a walk and reaching first base:

Johnny Damon singled through the right side. <--1>

Then the next batter gets a single, moving Damon over to 3rd base:

Edgar Renteria singled to right. <3-1>

The next batter hits a double, clearing the bases:

Manny Ramirez doubled to left center for two RBIs. <-2->
