IMPORT STATS

Blocking.csv

This file contains blocking RATINGS for each player. Only one line is needed per player. These ratings apply only to G, T, C, RB, TE, and WR.

The first line of this file is ignored. It contains the following header info:

ID,First,Last,Position,Rush Blocking,Pass Blocking

Each of the following lines defines blocking ratings for one player listed in players.csv. For example:

dreslcla01,Clay,Dreslough,WR,70,67

Each entry is interpreted as follows:

Column Description
ID

A unique string for each player. This string must match an entry in players.csv.

First

Ignored (this is included in the file for reference only).

Last Ignored (this is included in the file for reference only).
Position Ignored (this is included in the file for reference only).
Rush Blocking The player's current run blocking ability. An integer between 50 and 100 inclusive. (Average = 75)
Pass Blocking The player's current blocking ability against the pass rush. An integer between 50 and 100 inclusive. (Average = 75)

Note that Football Mogul only uses ONE blocking rating for RB, TE and WR. Therefore, Football Mogul will set the blocking rating for such positions equal to the AVERAGE of the entries for Pass Blocking and Rush Blocking.

Setting Ratings

Pass Blocking and Rush Blocking ratings for first team Offensive Linemen should average around 80 for the Football Mogul engine to function properly. The best players in the league should have scored in the 90s. Blocking ratings for 2nd string Linemen should be closer to 70.

Blocking scores should also average near 80 for Tight Ends and blocking backs, with the best blockers earning scores in the 90s. Wide receivers and other running backs should have ratings near 70 or lower.

Ratings for Offensive Linemen (G, C and T) are on a different scale than those for the "skill positions" (WR, RB and TE). Ratings should not be compared between Linemen and Backs/Receivers. For example, a Tight End with a 78 Blocking Rating is not a more effective blocker than a Guard with ratings of 76.
