Monkeystone Games to Publish Baseball Mogul 2003 for the PC with Sports Mogul, Inc.

Quinlan, TX – February 27, 2002 – Monkeystone Games, a leading developer and publisher of interactive entertainment for PCs and handheld devices, today announced that they will work with Sports Mogul Inc. to publish Baseball Mogul 2003, the latest release in the award-winning sports simulation series for the PC. Based on the highly acclaimed games from Boston-based Sports Mogul Inc., Baseball Mogul 2003 allows players to assume the role of General Manager of their favorite professional baseball team.

Baseball Mogul 2003 will be available for purchase online at http://www.monkeystone.com and http://www.sportsmogul.com as well as in retail by the end of March. The Baseball Mogul series is an officially licensed product of the Major League Baseball Players Association, and includes the photos and statistics of 1500 major league players. This rewarding series of games was called the “computer game equivalent of a dream come true for anyone who collected baseball cards as a kid,” by Gamespot.com. The Baseball Mogul series has won awards from countless sports and gaming publications over the years, including the Sports Game of the Year award from Computer Gaming World in 1998.

PC Gamer magazine reviewed Baseball Mogul 2002 in December 2001 saying "I've put more hours into Baseball Mogul 2002 than I have into any other game this year. And no, it's not just because I'm a nut for sports stats. This brilliant, endlessly involving game will take over every spare hour of a baseball fan's life. ... 89% - Excellent."

“I’m very excited to be working with Monkeystone Games on our upcoming release,” said Clay Dreslough, President of Sports Mogul. “We’ve had some great success self-publishing previous versions of Baseball Mogul. Now that we are working with the Monkeystone team we will be able to introduce many more customers to the thrill of owning a Big League team. And with the new features in this year's release, we're sure that all of our customers will enjoy the new game.”

“Monkeystone brings some great strengths to our partnership, and together we have some real synergies,” said James Grove, Vice-President of Marketing and Business Development. “Now that our award-winning product is backed by the sales and distribution support of Monkeystone, we believe that this will be the best selling release of Baseball Mogul ever.”

“I have nothing but the highest of praise for Baseball Mogul 2003 and the Sports Mogul team,” says Monkeystone CEO John Romero. “This is the finest sports management simulation a baseball fan could hope for. Our team is extremely excited to be publishing such a great gaming experience.”
