Stupid, gimmicky and completely random. There's also no reason to institute this as a year-to-year rule, since we only have the suspensions of one year of testing to work with. Outside of the case of Giambi, all the major league players who have tested positive have said it was because of weight supplements and other products, which are seemingly plausible explanations. I don't believe we should be handing out suspensions every year for a problem which may not exist in real baseball next year.

Let me chime in here, as I have everywhere else this is being proposed:

It's a stupid idea. It's not part of the game engine, and until it is it shouldn't be implemented.

    Okay. I've said my peace.

I think it's definitely interesting, but not something I'd want to see put in place.

I think if drug suspensions are going to be implemented, clay could add it to the "injury" section. Example for my team, Travis Hafner could become "injured" for 3 months. Reason: Drug Rehab or Drug Suspension

This would just involve adding the words "drug rehab" , "drug suspension" or "Tested positive for XXX" to the list of injuries that BBMO uses.

mein does have a good idea to tell clay about.

steiny --your opinion is 1 of the best in the game so i takes weight.

greenie---maybe you should try to come up with stuff to help us instead of always being a little biatch every time we suggest something

Maybe you should think of things that actually help instead of stupid gimmicks like this, and stop calling other owners in your league "biatch" :P

This will randomly punish teams, such as the other thread you linked to when the last place team had their best player suspended. I don't see why you're harping this in one place while claiming to have the best interests of the smaller market teams in another. It's downright Selig-esque.

I don't see anything significantly wrong with the competitive balance in the league. This could be because I'm winning right now, but I didn't have any problem last reset either when I didn't make the playoffs in 40 years.

A solution for what? To be honest, I haven't heard many/any complaints from people. The rare complaint I do hear is about Deja winning too much, but I simply think it's because he's an incredible GM, not inherent balance flaws in the league.

This business with radically realigning the money scale and adding steroids to the game just seems like tweaks that make the league more complex, don't necessarily make things more competitive, and they could potentially scare away new owners.

I had to read this twice. I thought you were making a reference to my many trips to Arby's lately.
