y guess yes. Remember this is the 2nd version of OOTPBM. They totally re-wrote the previous version...so basically it was the first version released.

I don't know why they did it, caue ootp6 was a good game. ootpbm2006, was not....but great for the "1st version" of the game.

Even thou, Markus and co, have written ootp for 8 years or something now...

Yea, I'd expect OOTP to be much better this year. 2006 really was a version 1 game. I'm assuming that they gave themselves some breathing room to grow with the new code base, but time will tell.

i think its important to remember that Markus was a teenager when he started coding OOTP and it wasnt supposed to be a public project. at the end, the code was a horrid mess. when it takes 2 hours just to find the line to change the name from OOTP6 to OOTP6.5, its time to think about some changes. rewriting it from scratch was the only way he felt he could move forward in the long run.

thats funny, my copy works just fine. sure its not the greatest version in the series, but it is playable. are you or did you try to use the final patch?

or are you just in here to troll?

That's about what I figured. OOTP should only get better with time, and with the resources of Sega at their disposal now, anything less than a great game would be a disappointment in my eyes.

It is a bit of a troll, but dolfanar does have a point. I could always play the game, but the problem was that I simply didn't enjoy it for reasons that we've already discussed. So, it's not unplayable from a technical standpoint, but I think that you'll find the most of us here will say that it was unplayable from a gaming standpoint.

there are more than 50 registered online leagues and my guess is 5 times as many solo leagues using the final patched version of the game, but yet, its unplayable? of course, compared to thousands of prior version online leagues and 100 times as many solos, it pales in comparison, but IMO, its not unplayable, its just unliked

It's unplayable to me. I don't like it, and therefore it's unplayable.
    *shrug*

Like I said, it's technically playable. There is more to a game though than it simply working correctly.

I wonder what are the sales comparisons between BM2k7 and ootp, I am pretty certain that ootp has a much larger audience then bm. But at the same token, Enlight got BM into stores, which increased the audience of this game by 10fold. Sales figures in terms of Quanity sold I would love to see. This is the sports mogul forums, If you post about BM being unplayable over there, many people would say the same. At the same token, I do suggest everybody try every game. It is such a shame that Sean from Pure Sim turned his game into freeware (well maybe) and there will be no more updates to this game.... I would have loved to see Sports Mogul and Pure Sim merger.

i think theres a clear difference between a game that is unplayable and a game i dont play because i dont like it. you think your dislike of it makes it unplayable.

ok. no sweat. agree to disagree.

    Re: OOTP 2007 anounced

When I bought it it took over 24 hours to get the @#*! thing operating. I didn't like that a whole lot.
It was not exactly user friendly.
    It was pretty.
I may buy it again sometime in the future, but I'd definitely have to read a LOT of great reviews, and they'd have to mention the words "intuitive interface".
