    Re: Braving the 80's

    It's Only Been 2 Weeks....

I guess I should get back on this.

Here's how the Braves worked out the contract issues after the season....

Claudio Vargas delivered a 9-6, 4.17 ERA last season and was awarded $3.8 million for his efforts. He'll be no higher than our #3 starter, but I simply didn't have anyone else to step in.

Junkballer Arinori Deushi was spectacular coming out of the bullpen last year with a 7-2 record, 2.39 ERA, and he even had 3 saves. He'll take home a $2.1 million check next season....ok, or a bunch of checks equalling $2.1 million.

Jeremy Affeldt was allowed to test free agency after his 5.67 ERA last season.

Rafael Soriano was given his walking papers as well. No place for a flyball pitcher in my pen....

William Tyerman had a great season last year but was allowed to seek fortune elsewhere. He's a one pitch pitcher, and I've enough of those. We wish you well Billy T.

    And finally....

Dmitri Young..... Leave. Get out. Go away. I don't care where you go. Just go. There's a McDonalds somewhere nearby for you to drown your sorrows in. Bye now.....

That's a interesting 3 yr dip in Brian Hunter's career, and Randy F'n Byers with 2000 hits but Bobby Abreu doesn't even get a 100. lol.
    Gotta love the randomness.

Brian Hunter had a great year in 2002. Except for one thing. He grounded into 40 doubles plays. Jesus. Can you say "Rally Killer"?

I have a question. Even though you have seemed 20+ years, the player ratings haven't seemed to have inflated that much. How do you keep this stable?
